Winston Salem Youth Hockey Association

The Carolina Lady Thunderbirds is an all-girls ice hockey program that provides a safe environment for young ladies to develop hockey skills for competitive play while building team character.  These young ladies play out of the Winston-Salem Annex and Greensboro Ice House from September to March.  

Our 14U/16U/19U team is for girls ages 13 through 19 (2006-2010 birth years)

Dates: Preseason (Sep 9), Regular season (Oct 22 - March 31)

Pre-Season Practices:  Saturdays 12:30-1:30pm at the IceHouse

Regular Season Practices:  Sundays 7:15-8:15pm and Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm at the Annex

Games: Inter-squad scrimmages

Tournament add-on: Players can opt-in to participation in CGHL games, tournaments and other exhibition games for an additional fee. More info to come soon

Cost: $750 (Jersey $40 each - red/white - IF needed.  If your old jerseys still fit, please continue to use them.  All new players need both jerseys)

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR 10/12U

Our 10U/12U team is for girls ages 9 through 12 (2014-2011 birth years). This year, we have merged our 10/12U girls program with the THA Rec program. Our girls will remain the Lady Thunderbirds and will play together in practices and games. The difference will be registration will be through THA (Triadhockey.org) and all practices/games will be managed and scheduled by THA. We expect to have enough girls this year to create 2 girls-only teams, both of which will play in THA Rec. We are also going to offer a travel add-on option for players that would like to play additional girls-only games.

Dates: Oct - March

Regular Season Practices:  1 practice and 1 skill session per week. Days and times are TBD

Games: Full THA Rec game schedule

Tournament add-on: Players can opt-in to participation in CGHL games, tournaments and other exhibition games for an additional fee. More info to come soon

To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available.  Following the completion of this registration, you will see a charge on your account from Winston Salem Hockey.

Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return here to complete your team registration.

• Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
• Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.

For those players registering for a Girls' Hockey program, USA Hockey requires submission of a birth certificate for new players that have not already submitted one.  Please be prepared to upload a copy of the player's birth certificate during the registration process.
